I love working as an OT to be able to help children develop their life skills and independence. You need to have a lot of patience, and it is so rewarding to see children make progress and be able to achieve their goals! Learning through play and fun activities makes each and every day different and interesting!
Some Fun Facts About Anne
Where were you born? Taipei, Taiwan
What did you love to do as a kid? I loved climbing trees, playing sports and reading.
What did you think you were going to be growing up? In primary school I wanted to be a Librarian as I loved to read. I also wanted to be a flight attendant so that I could travel to all the different countries.
Tell us an interesting fact about you? I love travelling. I had the opportunity to move to a very small island called Jersey for work in the UK, and it was such an amazing experience.
Anne has been working as an occupational therapist for over a decade here in Australia, as well as overseas in the UK, where she really enjoys working in paediatrics.
Anne was born in Taiwan but moved to Australia with her family when she was about 4 years old, and she is able to speak Mandarin.
Anne completed all of her schooling here in Brisbane and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree for Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland in 2009. she has been working as an OT since 2010.
Anne initially worked with older adults (geriatrics) in both the community and hospital setting and also completed her Level 1 training in Lymphoedema for a number of years before moving into working in paediatrics in 2015.
Anne also worked in the UK from 2019-2020 at a special needs school in London as well as for the Government of Jersey, Channel Island as their main school OT.
Anne has worked with a range of clients with varying diagnoses, but her main area of work is with clients with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and sensory sensitivities.
She particularly enjoys working with school age children who are working on developing their school skills, such as fine motor and handwriting skills. Anne is currently working part time at Optimum Movement (Tuesday to Thursday) as she also works for another private practice in her other specialist area of lymphoedema on Monday and Friday.
Anne is a member of OT Australia and works from our Cleveland clinic.
