Aileen has a passion for supporting children in overcoming barriers and reaching their potential on their journey to adulthood.  In her 14 years since graduating from the University of Queensland she has enjoyed working in a range of settings including Queensland Health, Disability Services Queensland, The Cerebral Palsy League and private practice.  Across all settings, Aileen loves the empowerment that occupational therapy promotes by encouraging the synergy of the person’s individual factors, the physical and social environment they are a part of, and the occupations they wish to engage in.

For most of her career, Aileen’s work has focused on children and young adults living with physical and neurodevelopmental conditions.  With over 8 years spent working for the Cerebral Palsy League, Aileen has a particular passion for supporting kids living with Cerebral Palsy (and related conditions) and she strives to balance evidence-based interventions with the child’s interests and motivations to achieve their potential.

Aileen understands the importance of nurturing the unique strengths and interests of each child and uses a range of approaches with a focus on functional assessment; goal-directed, play-based therapies; assistive technology, and environmental modification.  Aileen believes collaboration with the child, their family, and other team members is key to maximising health, wellbeing and participation in life.

Aileen works from our Minyama clinic.
